Time at Space Womb Gallery

Tonight, November 10, 2012, was opening night for the group Exhibition “Time” at Space Womb Gallery in Long Island City. There were many wonderful artists who participated, including moi! Back in 2001, I sent a work of art to be displayed at The Illustrators’ Society to honor those lost during 911. Back in the 1990's, an example of my graphic design work was exhibited at the New York Type Directors’ Club, but this was the first time I exhibited in New York at a gallery.

The gallery is located across the street from MoMA PS1, so I have almost hit the big time! Hurricane Sandy made an impact on my debut in New York, because I had ordered framing for two digital works for this show, but they could not be delivered because of the conditions on the Rockaway Peninsula which was hit very hard. So, I had to use framed works that I had on hand. Still, the experience is a great one. My thanks to Minjie Yoo, the exhibition coordinator, who was sympathetic and flexible with my circumstances.

A very crowded gallery space demonstrates that the gallery has a great following. One of my pieces can be seen on the far right.
